The theory is based on Erica Chenoweth’s research on historical movements that defeated authoritarianism. It only took 3.5% of the population to stand up and overthrow authoritarians. So we want to start training people to be able to effectively respond and show up while also building the numbers of people who can respond creating the mass movement we will need.
